Biorhythms is a personal prediction utility developed by ICL (International Computers Limited) and published by Sinclair Research. Biorhythm theory, popular in the 1970s-80s, holds that our physical, emotional and intellectual capacities follow sinusoidal cycles from birth — of 23, 28 and 33 days respectively. The program calculates and displays the state of these three cycles for any date, allowing the user to identify their 'peaks' and 'troughs'. ICL, one of the largest British computer manufacturers of the time, was one of Sinclair Research's two official software partners alongside Psion. A fascinating testament to the era when the home computer promised to transform daily life.
